About Me
- Joan Whitsett Lowder
- Midway, NC, United States
- I retired from Bali Bras, Sara Lee Intimates. Married in Oct 1976. I love meeting new people so hope to hear from you. Drop me a line. I've been doing crafts of all kinds since I was a kid. I loved making things and especially things that are recycled. I had never stamped until 2001 when I went to a stamp class while on vacation. We went to a local store to buy the stamps we had used. OUCH. When we got home I saw a Stampin Up catalog and realized how much money I could save with their stamps and best part as they are sets that go together which makes for easy card making. After doing some thinking I decided I should sign up as a demo and see what happens. I didn't know the first thing about stamping and still learning. Retired from Sara Lee Intimates in Feb 2001. I was in sales after many years, since age 18, as an office person, secretary, office assistant, etc. I am out of Stamping Up since Spring 2017 but still have lots of supplies!!!! These days I'm back to quilting and having a great time.

Saying Goodbye to bright colors

While Bold Brights will be changing soon to some new colors, here are some variations of the same card with Bold Brights and Soft Subtles. A very easy card to make with any tall stamps.
Just think, keeping some cards like this made up, you'll only need to add some words and viola, you friend is never more than a thought away.

May 2010 Stamp Class Projects
Well what a cute project. Just a card to make
anyone smile I think. I cased this card and hope you'll come back later for more information including supplies and instructions to make the following projects.
How too cute that the mice are using Pick a Petal, lots of punches and dauber.

Eastern Blooms lends itself to a bright and cheery card and what a great way to use up some of those Bold Brights.
Yes I'll have some card packets so you can assemble these projects at home if you are interested, just let me know.
This card was inspired by Penny Ginnery.
Stamp set: Eastern Blooms
Cardstock: Pink Passion cut 4.25 x 11
W.White, Green Galore scraps, Tempting Turquoise scrap strips
Ink: Pink Passion
Accessories: 1/4" punch, 1 3/4 " round punch, colored scraps of choice, ribbon of choice, stylus to mark where to adhere white circle on inside of the card.
Strip for the flowers is 4.25 x 1 1/8"

Break out your Petal Pizzazz and get creative. Well now I cased and tweaked this card based on what I had on hand. Notice that the strip on one card has been crumbled and ironed out and the other card, the strip was crimped and ironed out. This way you don't have to cut your cardstock longer but rather same as card and just stretch it back out and you'll still get the effect of some interesting looks.

The colors backing the strip of white are just scraps of cardstock left over so change it up based on what you have. When cutting card insets down to 4 x 5 1/4", I'm always left with lots of strips of cardstock. Get creative and see how you can use up yours.

This card was inspired by Jenny Moors, Stampin Moments. Really like this card. I think my preference for coloring is the one with the smaller oval for words but just depends on your choice of words.
So come back later for details on the projects. See you then.
Stamp set used: Teeny Tiny wishes, Petal Pizzazz
Cardstock: Ruby Red, pumpkin pie, So Saffron
Ink: Ruby Red, Black, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron
Accessories: Brad or button, crimper, oval scallop punch, large or small oval punch is your choice, dauber, pop dotws, 1/16" hold punch, words of choice.
