Project #1: “We’ll leave the light on” Lighthouse (I’m showing this card in two colors, 2 variations. )

Set: Uncharted Territory; Along the Shore (R) for the birds on envelope
Cardstock: If card is: Bravo Burgundy. W. White #100730 for light house is: 2 1/2 x 3 3/4”. Back the white with Navy that is 2 ¾ x 4 ”. Then the crimped piece will be 2 ¾ x 4”. Scraps of white for the oval. . (Night of navy #100867 piece to be crimped of equal height of white piece, about 2 ¾ x 3 ¾” unless it will be backed and corner turned down. They it needs to be same height as the background piece). It will be crimped and get narrower.
(If the card is Night of Navy or even Not Quite Navy, white for light house is 2 1/2 x 4 ”. Scraps of white for the oval. Bravo Burgundy piece to be crimped is 2 ¾” x 3 ¾” to be even with height of the white piece. navy on top and then a smaller piece of Bravo Burgundy on top of that. )
Clouds: Any color to punch out round scallop circle (for clouds)
Ink: Black Stazon or Black Craft pad. Pencils of your choice for coloring or water color with pencils or inks of your choosing. Bravo Burgundy to edge around the white pieces. Bashful blue for clouds.
Accessories: Wide oval punch, crimper, daubers for appropriate colors for edges, cording, string or jute, pop dots, yellow sponge wedge, round scallop punch.Instructions:• Stamp the white piece with the lighthouse in black stazon. Using the round scallop and yellow wedge sponge, make your clouds, not overlapping, with bashful blue.
• Tear the bottom of the white under the water.
• Crimp the additional piece to beside the lighthouse.
• Place some double stick tape on the back of the crimped piece and wrap your cording, yarn, twine making an x on the front.
• Then take an additional piece to tie at the center of the X and make double knot.
• On some scrap white, make some clouds again and stamp the words. Punch out with the oval punch. With a dauber go around the oval with contrasting color to the crimped color it’s mounted on. Pop dot the oval words onto the crimped piece. Pop dot the crimped piece and place on right side of the card.
• Envelope: Might be cute to use the birds from Along the Shore (retired) in Soft Suede.*******************************************************************************

We actually made the Tempting Turquoise card in class.

Project 2: "Bubbles and Butterflies"

Set: Butterfly Prints, Flight of the butterfly Shown in Concord Crush on Wild Wasabi.
Cardstock: Card is Tempting Turquoise. Front piece is W.White #100730 , 4 ¼ x 5 ½ It will be adhered to front of the card once the bubbles are done.

One card shows is: Concord Crush bubbles on a Wild Wasabi card. See tip below: White strip 5 ¼” x 2” for the butterflies on the front of the card. Scraps of white for butterflies that will be punched out. Wild Wasabi 5 ¼” x 1 ½” to be torn down the middle to go on either side of back of the white piece.
Ink: Tempting Turquoise ink pad, refill, dauber. Choc chip for butterfly body
Accessories: Extra Large Butterfly punch, Daubers, Container for making the bubbles, straws, Blow bubble solution. Reinker to match color. Basic Pearls sheet, Clear block “I” #118488. (This way you can line up all the butterflies & words on the block for one time stamping), Glue dots
Instructions:
Place Blow bubble solution into container. Add ink refill (Concord Crush) a few drops and stir with straw. Using straw, blow (holding straw down under the solution) making bubbles and hold white paper over the bubbles til you like the look and let dry. When dry, daub around the edge of the white with the dauber of same color.
Stamp the butterflies down the front of the white strip for the card…. Stamp the first butterfly, then the words (Words can be in Concord Crush or Wild Wasabi), then the other two butterflies. Also stamp a set on Scrap white to be punched out. Daub around this white piece for front of card with Concord Crush or whatever color you used for your bubbles.
Stamp brown body over the butterflies that are being punched out. No need on the card front. Add a tiny pearl for the head.
Piece of Wild Wasabi 1 ½” wide by 5 ½” long. Tear it down the middle and place a piece on either side of the white piece for the card. Or just use some left over scraps and do a solid edge of color behind the butterflies.

September 2011 class projects

Sept. 2011 class is just around the corner. Here are the projcts for this month. Come back later when I'll be posting the supplies needed.

Wed. am class moving to evening, 8/31 and yes this will be the Sept. projects. There are seats available but you need to call me tonight, 764-3546 . There is a Wed. am class for 9/7 but only if I have interest.

To book your clas, you will need to call me or email. Cost is$15 for 3 projects and I'll have all the supplies ready for you. Class is about 2.5 hr. Do plan to bring a sweater.



These cards will be offered again 9/20. You will make 6 cards, 2 of each unless you'd prefer a different assortment. The cost will be $20 (Prepaid!!), deadline is Sunday 9/18. Time for this class will be 4-7:15 pm.

This is a drop in workshop as you'll be working on your own so if you get the projects done in 1.5 hr. and assemble at home, that works also. You do need to reserve a seat however, since I can only seat 8. Each table will work on one of the cards and then move to the next table to do the next one. Make sense.

The Winter card is a stair step card and will be done on Navy cardstock.










On the Fall Card, it will be one of these cards which uses 2 different sets. Come back when I'l be posting the supplies needed.


Because Don and I liked the cut out leaf, I did decide to put it on the inside of each of the Pear cards.



Be aware that by the time you get to class I may have tweeked the cards a bit more. See you then. Do you have a seat reserved.






Not sure if I prefer the greeting and frame around the pear in the same colors. Comments welcome. So far the preference is the one with "Always".

This card uses a texture plate and Vintage Vogue, 3 colors. "Friends" stamp is inside on the left as it's a gate fold card.

Stamp Workshop: Let's make more of the same cards

Make 2 of each card shown below. You need to pre register for all classes.

Prepayment required for this class as I do have more prep. Deadline is Friday 8/12/11. Payment for monthly classes can normally be made in class however, if you fail to cancel your seat, you will be required to prepay in the future.

This class is $20. These classes will be a repeat of past class projects. You will make 6 cards with envelopes, 3 past designs, 2 of each. (Correction of earlier posting: it's 3 designs, 2 of each.)

This is not hands on instruction but rather stations and you will need to move to make the next card. I will be around to answer questions but for the most part you are on your own. It should be fresh in your mind. So, you can drop in between those hours posted as long as you are prepaid and can get your projects done in allotted time. Remember you can assemble at home if need be.

In my room I can seat 8 people. Project stations will be 3 on the each end will work on different projects while the two seats in the center across from each other will work on a third design.

The 8/14/11 class will be repeat of the projects for the August class. At some point I will consider going back and picking up older class projects for one of these events. Feel free to look around if you have to wait on a seat.

You just show up and have fun. Once you make the quilted card, you'll be looking for designer paper to cut up. What a reat way to use up scraps. I use glue sticks so you may prefer your own adhesive.

While I have 2 cards shown here for the faux quilted card, we are making the green on Concord Crush one.


Faux Quilted Card
Cardstock: Concord Crush with Pear Pizzaz layered on top.
2 pieces of Black cardstock 2.5 x 2.5" make up the backing to hold the square pieces. Designer paper, double sided, 1" square x 8.
Stamp Sets: Word Play, Vintage Vogue for the flower
Accessories: Buttons, glue dots, snips to cut out the flower.
Ink: Concord Crush.

Just another version of the same card.
















"Cherry Blossoms" I struggled with which one I liked best.

"Perfectly Herb Simple"

I love how simple this card is:

Card: Perfect Plum

Accent Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant 2 3/4 x 4 1/4" for behind the herbs. Whisper White 2 1/2 x 4". Scraps for Elegant Eggplant circle. Perfect Plum is the card.

Stamp set: Herb Expressions

Ink: Perfect Plum, Old Olive marker, Perfect Plum marker, Old olive to daub around oval.

Accessories: 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, lg. oval punch, yarn or ribbon of your choice, Sq. Lattice embossing folder, pop , dauber. One nice thing about sq. lattice embossing folder is that you actually get 2 looks depending on which side you like.

Instructions: Stamp the herbs on the white piece 2 1/2 x 4". Punch out a circle with 1 1/4" anywhere you chose on the herbs. Save this piece and mount it onto the Elegant Eggplant circle that was punched with 1 3/8" circle punch. Might even want to pop dot this piece. The herbs piece with the hole punched out, gets mounted onto Elegant Eggplant 2 3/4 x 4 1/4" piece and onto your embossed card . Mount this stacked circle with pop dots over the hole that you had punched out.

"Move over Picasso" and free yourself. Wow, it's amazing how much fun this was. I was able to make about 30 cards in about 15 minutes.
Card: Whisper White

Ink: Your choice but here I used, Delightful Daffodil, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point blue

Stamp Set: Old Hostess Set: Live Like you Mean it.

Instructions: Take your lightest ink pad and swipe it in the center of the card. Now from the edge to the center, take another color and drag onto the center color. Turn your card around and do the same from the other direction with your next favorite color. Lift up as you get to the center. Take some practice but I just love this card.

Rose in the Window is way easy and looks so good. I think you need a big stamp to see it well.

Set: Wild Rose, a square stamp

Card: Old Oive

Accent Cardstock: Whisper White for flower is 3 x 3", Brown for the flower is strips of Choc Chip, 1 1/8" x 3 3/8". Pumpkin Pie is 3 5/8" x 3 1/2"

Ink: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Choc Chip

Instructions: Background is so cool and so much fun to make. Release your tensions making this background. Using a square stamp and ink or using spots ink pads to make the background.

Stamp the rose onto cardstock and cut up into 1 inch square and remount. Trick. You must mark the back of your rose before cutting it apart of you'll be faced with a puzzle trying to reassemble. Be careful adhering the brown to the p.pie as it is not square. .

Card 2: Eastern Blooms Bedazzled

CARD: vanilla 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, fold over. Also 1 piece 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 for inside the cover, to cover the front of the card, backside

Set: Eastern Blooms for the 3 flowers stamped in Rich Razzleberry; Petal Prints for the open leaves stamped background, any words of your choice

Ink: 2010-2012 In Colors: Pear Pizzaz & ongoing color: Rich Razzleberry

Accessories: 1 3/8" square punch, scallop punch is an option; Dazzling Diamonds; clear packing tape.

Instructions: Punch out your squares or windows of your choice. Cannot be larger than the packing tape is wide. Place a piece of clear packing tape behind the windows, one piece across the back. I cut out the flowers and place them in the windows on the packing tape. Now pour on Dazzling Diamonds and shake off the excess. Using a roller, go over pressing the glitter into the tape, again tap off the excess. I placed the additional piece of vanilla in behind the window to cover the tape. Many did not want to do that so it looked like a window which is also very pretty and see thru. Hope this makes sense.

Card #1: Herb pots

Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Herb Expressions/R; Happy Together for the vine on the pots; Itty Bitty Backgrounds/R

Card: Cajun Craze layered with Marina Mist ( 5 1/4 x 4")
& W. Shite 2 1/2 x 4 5/8"

Designer Paper, cajun craze or your choice is 1 1/2" x 4 1/4"

Flower Pots: about 1 3/4 x 1". I free hand cut pots. Top rim uses the Window Word Punch.

Ink: Black, Marina Mist, Cajun Craze

Accessories: colored pencils, Large Oval Punch, XL decorative Label punch, daubers, twine or raffia, Window Word Punch

Card #3 Inches in Pink and Purple

Now the inchies are just so much fun and you'll have enough inchies background to go home and make a couple more cards. This card is in Melon Mambo with accents of Concord Crush. This is a fun process.

Sets: Just any sets you wish, words, images, solids and with open spaces, even alpha stamps.

Card: Melon Mambo with Concord Crush 2 1/4" x 3" and a Melon Mambo square 1 1/8 x 1 1/8" whisper white to do your stampin on.

Ink: Concord Crush marker. Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Daffodill Delight, Wild Wasabi, Blushing Bride. Images are all stamped in Concord Crush.
Accessories: Pop Dots, Crimper, Ribbon or yarn, Modern Label Punch

Instructions: Using the stamp pads as stamps, stamp with edges or solid part of stamp pad on a big sheet of paper or even a half sheet will be more than enough. I used all colors listed in Ink. Ten using the strong color, in this case, Concord Crush, I stamped my images on the background colors. No order, just random and in this case in one direction since I was using words. You'll need more images than you think so close is good. Now cut this background paper into 1 inch squares. I prefer using my paper cutter for this, no waste. Then mount your inches in any fashion you choose.

For the greeting, stamp on Whisper White. For the background, punch one more label in Concord Crush, cut in half and separate. Using a marker to edge anything not backed by this additional piece.

"Flowers Bursting Out"

Cardstock was a green, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Wasabi, Pear Pizzaz

Shimmery White cardstock for the flower stamped in your choice of color, also used for leaves.

Coordinating band backed with black cardstock for a small edge.

Card #1: Spring has sprung is to the far right

Set: Awash with flowers, your choice of words

Cardstock: Navy card with white overlay. Printed piece of green was 4 x 1 1/2". Whisper White for front is 4 x 3 1/2", for inside 4 x 5 1/4", for tag use a scrap. Green: Certainly Celery grass is 4 1/4 x 1". Design paper 4 x 1 3/4"

Accessories: Mountain Deckle scissors/R; yarn or ribbon, tag punch, XL decorative label punch, daubers, crimper, pop dots.

Ink: C. Celery, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Blushing Bride, So Saffron

The Owl is "Cute by the Inch", March 2011 class project

Well I need a masculine card. They are so hard to do and I so wanted to use the Hostess Set, Cute by the Inch.

Well it all started with card 1, plain and paper pierced corners.
















I so wanted to use this set, "Cute by the Inch". I do love yarns and use what you have. I actually liked this card but I kept trying to find something better. But for a quick plain card, I like it.

Then card 2 I added a bit of texture with embossing folder. I do like my embossing folders.





Yep, still using the yard. Don hate the yarns.

This owl is from Cute By the Inch, 2010/11 hostess set. Yep, Card 3 has more pierced corners and more texture and yes the yarns. Check out how cool the silver tape looks after being run thru texture plate. Still not a hit with Don. He's my card tester. Yes's he's also my cake tester but in this case it was the card of the hour.

Well now I did like card 4 with the mesh. I had forgotten I had this mesh on hand. Where did I find it you asked. Well it is a Masculine card and where else but the hardware store in the sheetrock area. Now you might want to share as it's a huge role. It even comes with adhesive but keep in mind you might need to blot it with some embossing buddy.

I know the yarn is still there. Now Don did like that I turned the yarn around and he really liked the mesh.

Humm, let me see what else I have in the shoe box..... and the end result is the card in Bravo Burdundy using the owl. Yes I had a ball of ribbon from the yarn aisle so this meant switching colors. This is one of the projects for March 2011 class. I think you can click on it to enlarge it. Now keep in mind when you tear away cardstock you are left with a nice strip that I just can't bear to trash. Ok, so come to a class and you'll see, I do keep scraps. So one of the cards has the strip just inside the card, right side with the edges also sponged in A.Artichoke while the order card has the strip inside the card near the seam.

I'm pleased and so is Don. Hope you like it.

Cake on white 1.5” x 3 ¾” and that’s backed with Pink Passion 1 ¾ x 4”; Tag is green galore. Awning, your choice of colors Ink: Stazon Black, colors to match, colored pencils Accessories: Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch , pop dots, bone folder or scoring blade, Scallop Border Punch




Well who doesn't love this flower. The best part is that you don't have to cut out the petals. There is a coordinating punch that will help you get the petals, leaves, center. Check it out in pink. I had already cut for yellow but I may have some pink on hand for first to choose.








Please note below that depending on where you place your leaves will dictate where you might want to put your label/greeting.

February Stamp classes & Projects

Check out the February 2011 class projects, larger photos below. Be sure to check out the class dates for classes in February. This card features the Flower Burst emblosslet that embosses and punches out at the same time. With a dauber just add a center and way you go to one simple card. I'd suggest cutting a strip of white or any color about 2" by 11" and then just place the strip in the embosslet and keep doing this til you use up the strip. Much easier and more efficient.

This card, #2 features "Upsy Daisy" stamp set. There are over 3,000 ideas using this card on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ It's a great set for an easy card, especially if you only have one stamp pad. Oh my gosh who only has one stamp pad color.


The pink card is a gate fold card with a twist. All the cards were cased and then tweaked to what I had on hand.

Several folks have ask for sizes. Cut your normal size card, ie 5.5 x 8.5. Then on the short ends, score at 2 1/8" from each end. The white pieces are 4 x 1 7/8". I did emboss the white pieces with the polka dot embossing folder or plate.

Do you know of someone who might like some girl time. Tell them about the stamp classes. Seating is limited.

January 2011 Stamp Class Project #3

While I'm not doing classes during November and December, 2010, I am planning for the new year.

The January 2011 class will include a coaster calendar, either single one with easel or 2 coasters that are hinged. Come back later for pic of hinged one.

While I'll have an assortment of papers perhaps precut, feel free to bring your own sheet of designer paper or scrapbook paper to coordinate with your decor.

It's a great little gift for a friend to start their year.

Be sure to check the class schedule to see if you can find a seat.





Don't forget that I'm still offering my class special. If there are supplies you might need, place a $15 order before s/h and tax while in class and your class and projects will only be $5 total (separate from order). if you don't need any supplies then the class is $15.

October 2010 stamp class projects

Well now don't you just love this "Northern Flurry" embossing folder for a simple and elegant card. Talk about fast. The impression is just so impressive. I used Pear Pizzazz for the actual card. Card #1 has been the favorite so far and of course it's the easiest. I must say, I also like it. The embossing folders just make for a very fast card. Just keep some made up and you only have to add the greeting. I used last years snowflake stamps to do the envelope and inside the card in Pear Pizzazz.


I used Cherry Cobbler for the card here. I did also use Crystal Effects on the berries.


On the bells, I did use dazzling diamonds around the edge. Now I do think there is a math method to getting the two diamond inserts but I did it by trial and error.

From Bells and Boughs you'll get to choose between the bells and the holly. Now don't you just love this cool white background which was done with the crimper. This card was using Garden Green which is what we are using in class.

It's all in the fold. I must say I did case this idea and if you need further instructions, let me know and I'll send the site I got it from. You'll need to mark your white card at 2 5/8" at the top and bottom edge of the long side of the white cardstock. The on the sides measure in at 2". Now score from the 2" mark to the 2 5/8" mark on all 4 sides forming a triange. Now fold in the points and with the card horizontal, you'll want to run the folded piece thru the crimper and go over half way thru. Pull it out and flip it around and do the same, again, going over half way. Viola, what a cool look. You will want to pull out the top and bottom a big as it does scruntch it up and you lose your squared up look.

Project #1: "Autumn in the Park"

As I have said so many times before, I just love the set "Lovely as a Tree". We'll make the background using stamp pads. Just a fun way to make your own printed paper. The leaves can come tumbling out of the card just like leaves falling as you walk thru the park.










Project #2: Elegant lines in Crushed Concord

This card is using the Elegant Lines embossing folder. It's a WOW. I put reinstones in 3 spots which I think just sets it off. Now the flower is using Eastern Blooms stamp set and I made the flower by dropping colors onto a baby wipe with reinkers. Then as you stamp you get this multicolored print. With ust a smidge of color left on the stamp I lightly stamped the background for the oval verse.



Just for fun I tested the waters by spritzing the flower with my own shiney mist that I'll tell you about at the October class. The center of the flower has dots of dazzling diamonds. The petals on the flower are curled under so that it's almost popped up. There is another flower just like it cut out and adhered inside the card with a glue dot.


Project #3: Quick goodie bags

You'll make one of these while in class this month. The little box/bag is a 2 4 6 8 box which is just so easy and can be made in a flash. You can get 2 of these boxes out of one sheet of cardstock. You can get one long one that's about 9.5" long or one a bit shorter.
