About once a month I meet my friend Mary Jane half way for lunch and we craft. We've been crafting at Fire Mountain in Salisbuy for so many years I can't remember. We go in with rolling carts and craft after we have lunch. We spend hours there and they know us as the crafty ladies. Well 2 months ago, Mary Jane brought the project which was to make a "graffiti Bracelet". Well it took us so long just to find words and cut them out that's all we got done. So last month we actually made our bracelets.
Well then I thought what a great gift for my niece graduation from High School. After about a month of searching for just the right words, here's what I came up with along with her card and a jeweled bag of money. All girls love money. Now the box is just a jewelry box (actually an old one) that I sponged with classic ink (craft would have been better) and then sealed it with some clear varnish. I added square beads to the bottom for feet. The edges of the box were stamped and embossed. The gold emblem was already on top so I just added a reinstone to the center. Viola, I had a cool box for the bracelet. The shredding around the bracelet was made from curling ribbon tha I ran thru a splitter and then I curled it so I had matching shredding that I had used on her faux diploma.
Remember you can always click on the photos to make them larger.
Now while this is not a stamped project, I'd like to say that with all the awesome words that SU has to offer along with words tucked into to quotes, phrases, the next one I make will be stamped. Now I coated the bracelet with Mod Podge "Hard coat" finish and I adhered the pieces as well with this. Now here is what I think would have to happen if you do this stamped, you would need to stamp and emboss, otherwise the image will vanish with just a stamped image in classic ink. I also think it might best to actually stamp on tissue paper which would almost vanish when adhered to the bracelet and more give going over round edges. I'll post the next one I make that will be stamped.
Now for stamping the image and embossing. I think the best would be to use black craft ink and clear embossing powder. Why, well I have oily skin which means everything I touch leaves a nice surface for the black embossing powder to stick to. So if this is the route you choose, use embossing buddy, versamark ink and black powder. Just another cool stamping project.
